The pivotal piece in the leadership dynamic is the person of the leader themself. Everything rises and falls on them, from the people or organization they lead’s well-being to the flourishing of the purpose or vision they pursue. In fact, leadership is a deeply person-al matter.
 
While leadership is often viewed positionally or organizationally, at the core of it—what makes or breaks it and gives it power—is the personal authenticity and wholesomeness of the person in the lead. “The success of an intervention depends on the interior condition of the intervener,” is spot on. We might say it this way: ultimately, the success of our actions as leaders does not depend on what we do or even how we do it, but on the inner place from which we operate. 
 
Yet often times not enough focus is given to, or investment made in, this person and their inner place—not by the people who engage them or even by the leader themself! This DeepLEADTM Growth Series is designed to change that, all of that. In this Growth Series, we shall begin from the basics by defining leadership and pursue why it is so wildly important. Once we have established this what and why of leadership, we shall spend the rest of the time exploring the who of the leader: their life story, identity and character, lifestyle, DNA and emotional well-functioning.
 
If we are not changing and our communities and companies, systems and societies aren’t either, there must be a fundamental reason. Dr. Yaw Perbi believes “it takes deeply transformed leaders to deeply transform society.” How deep is your lead?
