Since a leader, by definition, serves and influences others towards a shared, noble purpose, they must first and foremost have a sense of their own purpose (or DNA). First of all, no DNA, no life. A leader’s DNA must match that of those they are attempting to lead. Needless to say, if a person isn’t sure where they’re headed in life, how can they lead anyone else. You know what happens when the blind lead the blind. Purposes of the leader and the led must be aligned to create that “shared, noble purpose” in our memorable definition of a leader.
In this module 7 (of 8) of the DeepLEAD Growth Series, Character & Crucibles, you will:
- Get a clear sense of your own vision in life as part of DNA certification,
- Gain certainty about your life mission, especially in a scripture-informed manner,
- Clarify and document your core values,
- Practically put all of the above together in an inspiring Personal Purpose Statement (PPS), and
- Gain the confidence to let one’s DNA/PPS guide leadership choices and actions.
Who this course is for?
LeaderVarsity is aimed at both youth/learners as an emerging workforce and established leaders, especially teachers and executives who shape the world of learning and beyond but who may inadvertently have gaps in their own leadership formation. From the foregoing, it is evident that Leadervarsity “promote[s] lifelong learning opportunities for all”, the fourth Sustainable Development Goal (SDG). Again, if by 2030 Africa would have “substantially increase[d] the number of youth and adults who have relevant skills… for employment, decent jobs and entrepreneurship,” according to SDG 4.4, then an edtech intervention like LeaderVarsity at scale is a sine qua non.
